Bassam Aramin

Bassam Aramin became involved in the Palestinian struggle as a boy, and as a young man spent seven years in Israeli prison for planning an attack on Israeli troops. In 2005 Bassam co-founded Combatants for Peace, a movement of Palestinian and Israeli ex-combatants, who work to promote peace with non-violent means. In 2007, after his 10-year-old daughter, Abir, was killed by a rubber bullet shot by an Israeli border-police officer, Bassam joined the Parent Circle to continue his work for dialogue and for understanding of victims on both sides of the conflict.
