Michael Chitwood is the executive director of World Vision’s Church Engagement team and founder of Team World Vision, the run/walk/ride fundraising program for World Vision. Michael has a powerful personal story of loss and is motivated daily by the legacy he wants to leave in honor of his father—to remember the poor and relieve their suffering. Team World Vision is the fastest growing charity endurance program in the U.S. raising money for World Vision’s clean water projects in Africa. Michael loves helping people step through fear for the sake of others, and he continues to take on challenges to lead by example. He has completed countless full marathons, five Comrades Marathons (a 56-mile ultra-marathon in South Africa), seven full Ironman Triathlons, and one 100-mile run.
