The Church and the State by Joshua DuBois

It’s been almost 16 years since the Bush administration established the White House’s Faith-Based Initiative. This infantile program has had its setbacks and at times been clouded by confusion. But beyond the politics, most agree that much good is being accomplished even if more remains to be done. It raises a challenging question: “What effective role can the government really have with on-the-ground work in contrast to the local church’s caring for the least of these?” Joshua DuBois will clarify the goals and vision for his department’s role in advancing the common good.
