In a systematic killing largely ignored by the international community at the time, an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were murdered over the span of just 100 days in 1994. Alice Mukarurinda was lucky enough to survive, but years later, she was confronted with perhaps the most challenging question of all—could she forgive? Twenty-five years after the genocide that took her child and changed her life forever, Alice will reflect on this horrendous period in her country’s history and help us better understand the human capacity to forgive.
