What can we do? It’s the natural question after a disaster or amid a crisis. Our hearts break for the hurting and the grieved. We want to reach out, to help. As citizens of planet earth, we are regularly and often confronted with the problem of pain, with the reality of human suffering. Natural disasters occur with increasing frequency and force. The number of slaves in the world lingers at an unacceptably high number. Depression rates soar. Wars rage. And most recently, the spread of COVID-19 impacts the lives and the livelihoods of people all around the world. In this challenging Q Talk, Diane Langberg argues that this kind of trauma is perhaps the most important place for service and mission in the 21st century.
